How To Sew A Hair Band

Spring is coming! Here’s a easy tutorial on how to machine sew a headband comfortable to wear!

I designed it for the hours spent in the vegetable garden or in the garden and for this reason I left the elastic visible, but you can cover it and give your band a more… elegant tone!

Materials for sewing the headband

We need the following materials:

• 2 cuts of fabric (approximately 23×10 cm)
• 1 piece of adhesive backing (approximately 23×10 cm)
• a piece of elastic (about 16cm)

Step by step sewing tutorial

Print the band pattern And transfer it to the two cuts of fabric and the fliseline folded in half, obviously adjust the size of the pattern to your physical measurements.

Iron the fliseline on the wrong side of the cut of fabric that will form the back of the band.

Secure one end of the elastic on the right side of the cut of fabric that goes on the outside of the hair band.

Place right sides together the two shapes of the band (the elastic will remain inside) e machine sew along only 3 sides leaving the second end open from which you will turn the hair band right side out.

Insert the second end of the elastic into the open side And sew by hand with blind stitch.

I left the elastic uncovered, but if you prefer, you can cover it with the fabric before sewing it to the central body.

Well now your new headband is ready!
